With a bulk density of 280 - 320 kg/m3, PET is very good at resisting abrasion. Other features include very good electrical insulation properties and resistance to diluted acids, cleaning agents. PET may also be used for electrical wire casings.
We work with polyethylene terephthalate, mainly addressed as PET (sometimes PETE). Bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate are hydrolyzed down to their single molecular structure before they are purified and then re-polymerized to make new PET, which is then remodeled to meet our customers' demands.
Polyethylene terephthalate, commonly abbreviated PET, is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family. The basic building blocks of PET are ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, that are combined to form a polymer chain. Commonly used in synthetic fibers, material for plastic bottles and food containers.
We produce Hot washed PET Flakes mainly used for fibers, thermoforming, strong bottles, etc. Cold washed PET Flakes containing only 1% moisture are recycled back into plastic containers or PET sheets. Unwashed PET Flakes, used for the preparation of resin, and production of bristles in toothbrushes.
Plastic containers have triangles embedded in their bodies – known as SPI (Society of Plastics Industry) codes, with numbers inside them. These numbers define the properties of the plastic.
